Primary Signs & Symptoms of Heat Stroke:
- High body temperature (105 oF)
- Non sweating skin appearing red, hot and dry
- Pulse is strong and rapid
- Change in behavior, victim may appear angry or argumentative
- Often a victim will become disoriented or even lose consciousness
- Victim may complain of nausea or dizziness
Proper First Aid for Heat Stroke
- Body temperature MUST be lowered immediately!
- Water should be consumed
- Legs should be elevated
- Limbs should be massaged
